Obsidian vault = a normal folder on disk.
Vault structure (typical)
*.md (plain text Markdown; edit with any editor).obsidian/ (workspace + plugin settings; usually don’t touch from scripts)*.canvas (JSON)Obsidian desktop tracks vaults here (source of truth):
